From an IU Professor, on manuscript study

Below are excerpts from an email I received last week from a professor I know well...
(What a privilege it is for me to have such a job. --Paula)

"I wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying our manuscript study of the book of John this summer. I have been attending Bible studies for over 20 years now, and I have to say that this is the best study I have ever done. I am learning more than I ever have in a Bible study, and I am more excited about attending this group and learning than I have ever been.

Until this point, all the groups I have been a part of have been guided by study books that ask you read a passage ahead of time and then “fill in the blank” or write down a short answer to a question the book’s creators find meaningful...I can’t even begin to describe how different this study is!

There is never enough time to discuss it all, and I always leave wishing we could stay longer. I have never had a 2 hour Bible study fly by so quickly! The enthusiasm and conversation the text generates proves to me, once again, how exciting and inspiring studying God’s word can be.

If I had one request, it would be that we not stop after 7 weeks but make this into a longer study that goes throughout the year. I have been encouraged to see how much IVGFM has grown in just 2 years!..."
